Jorge Briones brings over 15 years of event, sponsorship and marketing experience to the Morgan Hill Downtown Association. Having owned and operated a successful event production company for the past three years he spent the previous ten years in professional sports and entertainment.  Mr. Briones has worked for companies such as Bill Graham Presents, the San Jose Sharks and San Jose’s Downtown Association.  His role while at those companies focused on corporate sponsorship and event production.

Jorge’s previous role with the San Jose Downtown Association brings with it great opportunity for downtown Morgan Hill.  During his three years with the San Jose Downtown Association he was directly responsible for securing corporate sponsorships for the annual summer concert series, Farmers’ Market, outdoor winter ice rink and SharkByte Art along with other projects.  Working closely with the San Jose Downtown Foundation, downtown business and property owners and three downtown committees he understands how a successful downtown operates.

Mr. Briones has also played an active role in the community and has served as a past president of the executive board for the Mission Counties chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), on the Police Activities League (P.A.L.) board and as a coach and manager for Oak Grove Little League.  In 2002 Mr. Briones was honored for his community service by being asked to carry the Olympic Torch during the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics Torch Run.

Mr. Briones is excited about the opportunity that is downtown Morgan Hill and he is eager to introduce new ideas to the downtown mix. He is a results oriented individual and feels that downtown Morgan Hill is primed to step up to the next level.

He is a graduate of the University of California at Santa Cruz with a degree in Marketing and additional certifications in Special Events Marketing, Small Business and International Marketing.

He has lived in Morgan Hill with his wife Joyce and their two dogs since 2001.
